The main purpose of Test Review is to automate the generation, storage, and reuse of comparative market documents. The program is capable of collecting, displaying and printing data, characterizing and correlating the models, performing a test evaluation of the data values, and assigning a score to each of the models.
General description
Generally, the information is organized in documents. Every document is a Test Evaluation document. It consists of a set of attributes and a set of models. The attributes describe the models. They can be textual or numeric. Every attribute stands for different model's characteristic. The attribute's value can be entered by the user or imported from the previous versions of the program.
Documents and Models
The documents are classified into groups and product groups. Every document can have different versions.
Attributes
The attributes are organized hierarchically.
Automatic evaluation
The hierarchical structure of attributes allows definition of groups of comparative parameters which can be used to evaluate the performance of a model. The recursive algorithm of the evaluation supports assigning weights to the different attributes, depending on their relative importance to the model performance. During the evaluation, measurable data values of different kind are converted to comparable types using a special key mechanism. It is also possible to specify "penalty" and "bonus" rules that allow the generation of exceptions to the default evaluation key processing.
Editing
Various flexible editing possibilities are provided in Test Review allowing different views on the measurable data. The editing engine permits users to modify all the output formatting and appearance of the reports and exports.
Document management support
The application supports a powerful mechanism to present the evaluation results. The scores obtained during the evaluation can be displayed using aflexible mapping to verbal expressions which can be defined at the level of single attribute. For example, for a subjective comparative parameter, like "ease of use", the rate can be very easy, easy, possible to use, or difficult to use. But in the same test a parameter "fault tolerance" can be rated as very stable, stable, or unstable, and for the rate of the model in general the scale can be very good, good, bad, very bad.
Import and Export
The different exports generated by the system permit easier integration of the application in several environments including desktop publishing, data processing, market analysis, etc.
Reports
A number of reports can be generated with the program allowing users to track overview and check the status of the test document during the test preparation cycle. The compatibility between the reports and the Quark export permits a preview before the test is send to the publishing department.
